Barrett Electric specializes in Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers. The MicroLogix line allows for us to fill a large variety of customer applications, from powerful, large-scale applications, to simple and concise without the need for extraneous spending.
We do business with several electrical contractors who use our skills to complete work for their customers. A large bottling customer was installing a new bottling line that included ammonia/glycol heat exchangers, control valves, air compressors and a bottling line. The process consisted of an ammonia cooling loop cooling a glycol loop that in turn circulated through VFD controller pumps to manage the cooling of high pressure and low pressure plant air compressors and a low max bottle forming machine. We provided a control panel design based on an engineered scope of work that include Allen Bradley PLC and HMI controlled pumps, valves, solenoids, system temperature and pressure sensors to complete a controlled cooling package.
A client expressed a need for a system of counting goods produced and placed into a container, subtracting goods that are removed from the container, and a total number of goods produced regardless of whether they were removed or not. The system needed to be retrofit, and to not hinder production.
Barrett Electric engineered the project with specifications from the client (availability of resources, sizing, and necessary functions). We designed and built a panel capable of supporting the system, designed and built the program for the controller to use, and designed and built the peripherals necessary to complete the task. We then installed the system in our customers location, along with giving relevant employees the necessary prints and designs needed to run and repair the system. As a full service contractor, we are available to repair or adjust the system as time and function necessitates. Our intimate knowledge of the system allows us to repair much more efficiently and effectively.
An industrial customer had a situation with a PLC network that included an Allen Bradley PLC 5 and numerous motors and controller that operated a fuel yard at a biomass power plant. The system had been offline for many years and program had failed in the processor. With no copy of the program available, we were able to work with the plant to reprogram the existing equipment and bring the process back on line at a significant savings.
Apex Construction was contracted by Severino Construction to build a municipal water booster station at the Granite Ridge Market Place commercial development in Rochester, NH. Barrett Electric was contracted to provide power, emergency generator, pump control panel installation and wiring, and SCADA wiring and commissioning. The project included power, 5 pumps, PLC and VFD controls, pressure/flow metering and control, and heating/cooling.
The Town of Derry, NH contracted with Infrastructure Construction Corporation to build a water pumping station as part of a large civil project. Barrett Electric was contracted to provide power, switchgear, emergency generator and SCADA wiring and commissioning. The project included power, 5 pumps, PLC controls, VFDs for all pumps, pressure/flow metering and control, telemetry, and heating/cooling.
Kingsbury Construction hired us to wire the new enclosed Pump Station at River Street in Jaffrey, NH.
A manufacturer’s representative came to us with a question. He was selling a designed blending control system to an animal feed handling company. Could we design, build, install and wire the equipment necessary for his equipment and PLC program to operate the existing augers, weigh scales and data systems at the feed mill. We designed controls for 28 VFD controlled augers, turn heads and weigh scales to blend the cattle rations that his equipment created. We installed the control panels, wired the motors and drives, installed new data wiring, installed a new electrical entrance for the plant and successfully commissioned the power and control for the plant.

A manufacturer came to us with an application for a machine safety control and hard guarding. We worked with a safety specialist to design a control reliable safety circuit and physical guarding to protect the operators. We installed the hard guarding and provided control wiring for the equipment connecting to existing machine controls.
